A review: Kiss Me Organics Matcha Green Tea Powder

I was asked to test and review the Matcha Green Tea Powder by Kiss me organics.

So what is Matcha I hear you ask, it is green tea from the camellia sinensis,  Matcha is ground down to a very fine powder. unlike other variety’s of this tea Matcha has not been fermented. Matcha is also grown in the shade which allows the leaves to turn into a dark green colour. This gives Matcha its brilliant amino acids.

This powder has many benefits including metabolism boosts, energy boosts and improved skin health.

Metabolism Boost

Eating and drinking Matcha Green tea increases the body’s own rate of burning calories for the normal 8-10% of daily energy expenditure to 35-43% of daily energy expenditure.

Energy Boosts

it provides 4 to 6 ours of added mild steady energy as it acts as a stimulant and a relaxant.

Improved skin health

Matcha Green tea helps protect the skin from UV Rays, while improving blood flow and oxygen levels.

Matcha green tea also has antioxidant qualitys that boosts your body’s natural defences against oxidation.

so now all the information about the teas has been said what does the tea actually taste like.

most dietary supplement’s I have tried tend not to taste to good but I can honestly say Matcha Green tea has quite a pleasant taste. I tried it in two forms, the first time I tried it I just added a teaspoon of the tea powder to half a cup of water then I added milk. I stirred it for a while to ensure that the powder was fully dissolved. The colour wasn’t that appealing to the eye but it did taste nice. I am a fan of green tea anyway and I quite enjoy a cup now and again so i’m happy that this tasted the same. it was a very subtle taste and didn’t need sugar or sweetener as I found it quite sweet without it.

I have recently brought a smoothie maker so I thought I would try the green tea in a smoothie. i added a banana, pineapple, watermelon, ice, teaspoon of chia seeds, tea-spoon of green tea and a splash of beetroot, blackcurrant and apple juice. Again the colour wasn’t to appealing it resembled some sort of green slime, but the taste was amazing. the Matcha Green Tea added a nice flavour and it was quite a pleasant smoothie.

before i drank the smoothie i was feeling quite lethargic as my 2 year old isn’t sleeping to well so i definitely needed a little pick me up and to my surprise within half an hour i felt a bit more energised and my concentration increased.

Match Green Tea is Available from Amazon and is currently in the sale, it’s priced at £18.00 with a saving of £4.00.

Once you’ve purchased the matcha green tea powder, kiss me organics will email you a recipe guide packed with ideas and instructions on how to create different dishes and drinks using the Matcha powder.

I was surprised by the amount of recipes included in the guide, there are recipes for smoothies, cocktails, breakfast, dinner and sweet treats.

even if you’re not a tea drinker there is such a huge variety of ways you can use Matcha there really is something for everybody.

one of my favourite things is cooking but I do also love baking and creating cakes.

I enjoy making cakes for friends and family for special occasions, Im not an expert at it but I do try my best and whoever I’ve made a cake for they always seem to be happy with it.

The one thing I don’t like though is transporting the cake, I always get nervous and worried that im going to ruin it before its even got to its destination.

Simply Amazing

2015-05-20 21.58.38

Today I was very lucky and got to witness a very beautiful and amazing thing. One of my very good friends dog gave birth to eight tiny, gorgeous puppy’s

I have witnessed this before with my own dog, but I was only very young so don’t really remember it.

I was amazed at how easy Sheba made it look, she just sat there while each puppy entered the world without making a sound.

She then cleaned each puppy and got rid of the umbilical cord, then positioned them by her nipple ready for there first feed.

Girl dogs are very clever and it was astonishing that she new exactly what to do without even experiencing it before.

It was one of the best experiences of my life and I can’t wait to watch the puppy’s grow.

Chinese Chicken And Mushroom Curry

Tonight I Made a Chinese Chicken and Mushroom curry. The paste I use creates a curry that is exactly the same as you would get from a Chinese takeaway.

You can buy this paste from an international supermarket or a Chinese supermarket. It’s very cheap and you can make around 4 curries from each pot.

The other ingredients needed for this dish are

Chicken Breasts (I used 2 and I cooked for three people)

3 onions

1 packet of mushrooms

1 bag of long grain rice

1 bag of prawn crackers

First thing to do its chop the chicken into chunks, onions into chunks and the mushrooms into quarters. Put the chicken, onions and mushrooms into a saucepan and cook through until the chicken is sealed.

Next the paste needs mixing with boiling water.

I mix 3 tablespoons of the paste with 1 and a half pints of water. If the sauce needs to be thicker just add a bit more paste at the end.

When the paste Is fully dissolved add the sauce to the chicken mixture and stir, bring to the boil and simmer for around 20 minutes.

While the curry is cooking, cook up the rice.

When the rice is cooked, fry the rice with 2 eggs and a couple of dashes of soy sauce to create egg fried rice.

Serve with prawn crackers and enjoy.

Simple But Delicious

On Sunday I went to the baby show so I didn’t have any time to sort out dinner, so when I got back I decided to use what I had in the house to make dinner.

We haven’t got much in but we did have some potatoes, cheese lots of salad and bacon.

I decided to make jacket potatoes, but instead of just jackets and cheese I wanted to make something a bit more exciting so I made loaded jacket potatoes.

For this recipie you will need.

Potatoes (I use red rooster potatoes)

Spring onions

First cook the potatoes, I cook mine in the oven for an hour. I prick each potatoe with a fork and put the oven on to gas mark 8/9 and just leave them till there nice and soft.

While the potatoes are cooking grate the cheese, chop up the spring onions and cook the bacon.

When the bacon Is cooked chop up into pieces.

When the potatoes are cooked take them out the oven and allow to cool for about 5 mins. Cut off the very tops of the potatoes and scoop out the middles and set aside in a bowl.

Add the cheese, spring onion and bacon and mix with a bit of butter and salt.

Scoop the potatoe back into the skins and add a bit of grated cheese onto the top of each one.

Put the potatoes back in the oven for around 10 mins just until the cheese is melted and is golden brown.

Take out and enjoy with a fresh crisp side salad.

Baby Show 2015

My lovely friend Laura from mindmoodmommy, gave me a ticket to attend the Baby Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

I Have been three times before and I always have a good time, and always come home with freebies.

There were lots of exhibitors there including Tommee tippie, Cossato and as always Baby Planet.

I took my little girl Scarlet along with Me as they have activity and demo’s that she could take part in.

The first demo that was on when we got there was toddler sense. They asked the children to sit down in a circle and they brought out a basket with wooden sticks in it. The children then got 2 each and sat back down, the lady who was doing the demo sat with the children and they did there welcome song while banging the sticks together.  Scarlet really enjoyed making a noise with the sticks and she liked learning the welcome song.

They then moved onto another song, the children were then given maracas, wooden spoons and plastic tubs that they used as drums.  The children were encouraged to shake and bang along with the music.  All the children joined in and we’re having loads of fun.

After this activity the children were encouraged to tidy the instruments away. They then we’re given pom poms and dancing ribbon. Another song was played and they were asked to shake the pom poms and jump and dance about. This was so much fun and really got the children up and active.

The last activity they did was with a large sheet of material.  The parents grabbed hold of the ends of the material and pulled it tight. The toddler sense staff then threw balloons onto the material and the parents lifted the netting up and down so the balloons were thrown into the air.  This was a lot of fun and there were smiles and laughter all round.

It was the end of the demo and the staff taught the children the goodbye song. This was a very enjoyable experience and my daughter loved it.

It was time to have a look around the rest of the show, there were lots of demonstrations going on around the hall of the different types of pushchairs, travel systems, car seats and bouncy chairs that were on offer. It really was a parents paradise and there was something for everybody.

Tommee tippiee hosted the feeding area and there were bottle warmers and microwaves avaliable to use for feeding your baby’s.

As well opportunities to buy new things there was also lots of advice and tips to be learnt as you ambled round, from breast feeding advice and tools to weaning advice.

Mamia hosted the baby changing and there was nappies on hand for you to use as well as baby wipes. Stokke provided the changing tables.

My daughter also enjoyed the soft play area that was avaliable for her to use.

I did buy one thing that I thought was a brilliant idea, that was Russel the dream sheep dog. It is a toddler comforter that has soothing lights and a recording setting that allows you to record your child’s favourite song or lullaby. You could even record a story or just use your voice to help comfort the child. The idea behind it is something your child can have in bed with them that will comfort them to ensure they have a good night’s sleep. I’m yet to see if it works but I’m hoping it does as my daughter will not sleep at night without me next to her which Is now taking its toll on me.

All in all it was a nice day out which me and my daughter enjoyed.

The only problem is I am now really broody and would love another baby.

Daily Rant

I have decided im going to do a daily rant post, as just lately there is something that happens everyday that really gets on my nerves.

its a way for me to get my anger out instead of taking it out on the people who are close to me.

Today Started ok until I got up and my youngest daughter Scarlet decided to just scream at me when she saw me. I never got the cuddle and good morning mommy, Instead she decided to demand lots of things and if I never got them quick enough she would scream and hit me. Every one that knows me knows that I am not a morning person and I have to have at least two cups of coffee before any one dares to speak to me, so having my daughter scream at me was not the best idea.

she then finally calmed down and I could relax and enjoy my coffee.

My Eldest daughter finished school and came out with the moodiest face ive ever seen, so I knew straight away she was going to be a nightmare. As soon as she saw me she looked at me like she wanted to kill me. she then started moaning that I was driving and her dad wasn’t, apparently she doesn’t like my driving.

Another thing that has annoyed me today is traffic. I am a new driver (even though I passed my test 5 years ago). I didn’t like driving when I passed my test as I was pregnant and was worried I may crash and hurt my baby. I then tried again when my daughter was born, but again I didn’t trust myself with her in the car.

My Anxiety problems then started which stopped me from driving as I would have a panic every time I got in the car. I am now in a better state of mind so im driving again,  and I cant believe I didn’t do it sooner. I love driving and I love the freedom I have. Today was different though I was stuck in traffic which was only for about half an hour but it seemed like forever and its the first time I actually hated driving. After my horrible driving experience I finally got home, I thought I would put the dinner on and relax but that did not happen instead my two girls decided it would be fun to roll around the floor and scream at me for a drink. I did them one then sat down. They then decided they didn’t like each other and started arguing. I cant wait for bed time, I love my children more then life itself, but they know exactly what buttons to press to wind me up.

well I hope I have a rant free day tomorrow but if not you will surely hear about it.
